Technology has grown to a level where a single sperm is used to produce a fetus. Even if there is no sperm in seminal fluid the test is made on the muscles of the scrotum to find out the presence of sperms and are used to produce a baby. Let us be known about the advanced technologies available currently in this article.

Egg and the sperm are taken out of the body and let the sperm enter into the egg to fertilize it. And the fertilized (embryo) ovum is placed into the uterus in which the function of the uterine tube is carried out artificially. For this method, the healthy sperms are separated and are stored in the laboratory. Likewise, the ovum is also taken out and is placed with the sperms and the living embryos are kept in the female uterus on the second day. When it is inserted carefully it adheres to the uterus and grows well. But this method cannot be done to everybody. The number of sperm hormones is tested in various stages before the treatment to make sure the possibility of success.

Uterine health status is ruled out by accusing the depth of the uterus through the X-ray. By this, we can estimate the outcome of medicine for the production of a healthy ovum. Even if the immature sperm is fertilized, the embryo would not survive. To avoid such a situation number of eggs are produced artificially at a time by medicines.

Heath status of women, ovulation period is calculated from the date of menstruation and hormonal drugs are injected accordingly. Hormone levels are accessed frequently to know the exact ovulation period. Hormonal analysis, ultrasound testing, injection tests, a regular menstrual cycle is carried out to collect the matured ovum. When all the above-said methods are carried out, usually eggs are collected under the guidance of ultrasound. A needle is injected via the vagina and reaches the ovary to collect the matured ovum and placed in a small test tube and good quality sperms are separated. The healthy sperms are segregated and kept in a kept in a fluid to grow. The warmth required in the uterus for the growth of the embryo and the same is maintained in the incubator.

For the fertilization process the sperms can be obtained immediately or in a frozen state. After several hours of egg collection, the sperms are mixed in the medium with sperms for fertilization and in an incubator. After 24-30 hours, the ovum is tested many a time to know the fertilization status. Before the embryo is injected into the uterus, an expert tests the quality of embryo, then the embryo is injected into the uterus. If there are any genetic disorders that could be found in the initial stage itself and are removed. This is a modern hi-tech technology.

The embryo injected into the uterus is carefully monitored until it grows into a baby. These are the advantages of IVF treatment. The couples are counseled well enough about the treatment, how to get ready to have a test tube baby. Hence couple would not have any anxiety towards the treatment.

An ideal time for fertilization by test tube method

  • When both the fallopian tubes are badly damaged
  • When the eggs are hard but the oligospermia and unhealthy sperms present in the seminal fluid.
  • The fluids in the suricates produce a thick tenacious secretion or the acidity of the fluid kills and or present in the sperm entry.
  • Even with the help of hormonal injections, unhealthy eggs are produced.
  • Cervicitis, genetical infection, chromosomal disorders, of a couple.

People who cannot undergo IVF treatment

  • Total hysterectomy uterine tumors like adenomyosis scars in the uterus.
  • Uterine tubes closing, infected or very badly damaged ovaries
  • Uterine adductors with intestines, people who have deficient sperm or ovum. People who are age over 45, and generally weak people.

Important fertilization methods

The success ratio can be analyzed by various modern methods. Few methods are given below

GIFT Method

In this method, the eggs are taken and fertilized with a sperm placed in the fallopian tubes immediately. This method is called cannot to intra-fallopian transfer. GIFT method than creating an inductive environment obtained embryo is formed and kept in the uterus. This technique is ideal for the people who have unknown infertility, defect in the cervical glands or in the uterus, sexual disorders.

ZIFT Method

In this method, the embryo is placed directly into the fallopian tube through laparoscopy.

TIST- Tubal Sperm and egg Tray

The same technique used in TIFT method is used in this test.

PROST- Pro-nuclear oocyte sperm

The embryo is shifted transfer the uterus during the initial growing period.

POST –Peritoneall Oocyte and Sperm Transfer

The sperm and ovum are injected via peritoneum into the uterus and are fertilized in the fallopian tubes.

DEBT – Direct Intro Peritoneum Sperm Injection

The sperms are injected directly into the uterus through the peritoneum.

TUFT – Trans Uterine Fallopian Transfer

In this method, the sperms and eggs are mixed in a minute catheter and are injected via the vagina. When the male partner is unable to make the women pregnant by sex. This method is very useful in producing a result.

DOT – Direct Oocyte Transfer

Egg and the sperms are directly into the uterus.

VEST – Vaginal Egg and Sperm Transfer

In this method egg and sperm is collected in a small tube and are kept into the female genital tract. The success rate is very low in this method.

SHIFT – Synchronised Hysteroscopic Intro Fallopian Transfer

In this method, sperms are injected into the uterine tubes via uterus by hysteroscopy.

Laser-Aided Fertilization

Few people who have very unhealthy sperms which cannot even break this shell of the ovum. In this scenario to make the eggs fertilize, a hole is made in the outer shell by laser through which the sperms are sent inside. This method is available nowadays.
